This shot was taken about 2 minutes before show-time side-stage at the Aragon Ballroom in Chicago on a cold November night. I used Rob Zombie's stage backdrop as background and a single 1200w strobe.
I had tried all day to get a few decent shots with John being very co-operative and generous with his time, but the keeper was the last minute shot taken just before he hit the stage...

The Who
This shot was taken in New York at the old S.I.R. studios on 52nd St. I used one of the first commercially available digital SLRs and a pair of hot lights. Pete is a busy man, so I had about five minutes to get what I needed before he had to join the other Who members for rehearsal.
The gold Fender Stratocaster in Pete's hands was subsequently smashed to pieces at a Who show in Japan a few weeks later....

These shots were taken at the House Of Blues in Chicago, I used a longish lens and a couple of strobes. Henry looks very dour but he's one of the nicest guys in the business!
